A rather handsome gin from South Africa, produced by the Cape Town Gin & Spirits Co., produced as an homage to the gins made over well-over a decade ago. Decidedly juniper-forward, with enough citrus and herbaceous deliciousness to keep it interesting.
Dry juniper with a touch of Christmas-y pine to it, supported by basil, mint, orange and grapefruit.
Tasting this gin on world gin day today. Have sampled about 25 good gins and now at home trying the Cape Town Classic Dry Gin with tonic lime and mint. Up there with the very best, very smooth, nice juniper and citrus flavours. Well done.
