Bulldog Gin Reviews

My favourite

6th May 2020

Smooth sweet easy.

I liked this alot, very smooth and very easy. i drink this one neat as it has such a smooth flavour although it would still stand out as a cocktail mixer.

Not a boring tipple

Refined - well impressed, cucumber perfect garnish - having a citrus void diet, a lot of gin taste flat, see how I feel tomorrow all in all a very good mid range

31st May 2019

My first ever gin

Not a bad first choice, preferred it with tonic as opposed to neat but very nice

20th March 2019

So smooth!

Had my first taste last night and loved it. I'd tried Bombay Star and didn't like that and was recommended to try Bulldog - so much smoother. Had it was traditional tonic water and a slice of lime; yum.

I am a purest when it comes to Gin, and friends regard me as a little bit of a Gin expert. This Gin has my vote it’s smooth crisp with delightful subtle tones. I love it!!!!

Ok but not one of the best I've tried

Not impressed Carnt seem to get any of the poppy lotus leaf or dragon eye etc just a very dry gin very disappointing ..not impressed into today's envoi token when gin is so popular even got a local distillery opening haven't tried yet but being a gin lover won't be long so sorry but that was my opinion

Crisp citrus winner

A beautiful crisp citrus tang to Bulldog gin. Tasty and moreish.

17th November 2018

It's a great classic gin. It's solid, balanced, an iron fist in a velvet glove. We shall never surrender!!!

One of the best gins without breaking the bank!

Bought this on Holiday in the Lake District, and very glad I did. I admit I paid over the odds for it (purchased from a local supermarket, a northern Waitrose (if that makes sense), and I now realise it is available for about a tenner less, but hey ho, it was holiday.

Onto the gin. the nose on opening the bottle has more complex aromas than other gins, with a subtle undercurrent of citrus and lime leaves. It was very different to the other gins I have purchased in the past.

the flavour was, once again, more complex than other gins I have tried. mixed it with an ice cold Schweppes tonic and a twist of lemon zest and it was one of the best G&T's I've tried. so much so my wife and I managed to polish off nearly half the bottle between us fairly quickly! Have since tried looking for it locally (hence the hindsight of the cheaper price elsewhere) and will definitely be buying more!!

A pre pedigree gin

Smooth, multidimensional, aromatic, yet oh so clean on the palate. Delicious! I’m hooked.

14th July 2018

I went to my local liquor store in search of flavored gin, only to be told that gin is "struggling" to survive in the US. I was quite sad to hear this as I am a gin lover. I picked up this darling to drown my sorrows and was amazed at how smooth and lovely it was. I'm in love!!!

Not unique.....

After drinking Inverroche Classic Gin, I was convinced to try Bulldog. I read up on Bulldog, it’s botanicals and am very disappointed.. Returning the bottle from where I purchased it.

Lovely tones and very smooth

Drinking my 1st bulldog now with plenty of ice, Schweppes tonic, a squeeze of lime and a slice of red grapefruit. Its stunning. Not tasted anything quite like it before it's very distinctive and smooth.

Have paid double the price + and
does not match bulldog

6th August 2017

Look Forward to the next time!!!

Superb flavours!! After sampling 21 other varieties in 3 days Liverpool based The Bulldog accompanied by Fever Tree tonic water. Outstanding!!

3rd July 2017

Don't bother

Rubbish. Gin for those who don't like the taste of gin. Subtle??? No flavour more like. Avoid

6th May 2017

Manque d'originalité et de mordant.

Pas bien méchant/puissant malgré son nom.
Plutôt classique, j'aurais aimé que ses ingrédients originaux comme le longane et la fleur de lotus ressortent un peu plus.

10th April 2017

Better than you'd expect for the price

Only started enjoying gin recently. Originally put off drinking G&T by bar staff drenching the character of the gin with too much syrupy tonic water. I think Bulldog is a gin you can drink neat or just with ice or a splash of water but it's also good, one to one, with tonic. I like the contemporary gins but this is good to keep in the cupboard and go back to for a change. A bit different from the classic London Dry and good value too.

19th January 2017

Wow this is really nice.

I drink it with Fevertree indian tonic, the tonic compliments this really good gin. To such an extent, that from a Dram sample, I ended up buying a 70cl bottle. Well priced and well balanced, I good one to keep handy in the drinks cabinet. it's in my top 20 @ No 10.

15th July 2016

give it a go

Fresh and crisp gin. Keep it simple, ice and tonic. Winner

15th June 2016

Put this one before the domestic tasting panel[friends]
If you compare the quality V price then OK you have a good product.
Would I put in a repeat order-doubtful.
Sorry guys
Acker score 3/5

13th May 2016

Dan Wooding professional gin soak

Not that impressed with bulldog, did a basic standard home test after buying a bottle, cold glass, ice, gin then fever tree so a bit of a naked test. With tonic it has a bit of an after taste dare I say almost chemical! Neat in a chilled glass it's ok, but believe it or not it is improved with a splash (yes a splash so equal the measure of gin) of cranberry juice and that is its saving grace

17th March 2016

Lovely & affordable

The Bulldog Gin is one my favorites; not because it's better than any other premium product but because it's probably the most affordable premium product on the market. It's better than any other gin you can find for the same price. It's smooth, not too spicy (but you can definitely taste the poppy!), and since I own a bulldog myself (the dog, of American type) I have nothing but love for this extraordinary English gin.

15th March 2016

Gin @ Tonic-"Fever Tree" Tonic only!

First purchase of product, great taste and flavor.
Bought at a fair price, great look to the bottle and ease
of pouring,well thought out!
I would buy again and again, cheers!

A Martini-centric gin

One of my favourite London dry gins. Perfect for a dry Martini mixed with Dolin dry vermouth. Add whatever garnishment you prefer.

11th December 2015

2nd July 2015

Anne martin

Rather strong for my taste but goes well with lots of ice and refreshing with flavoured tonics such as fever tree or bottle green pomegranate and

24th June 2015

Awesome Gin

I have been drinking Beefeater over the last 35 years and discovered Bulldog Gin. This is the best and smoothest gin ever. You have a new best friend.

19th March 2015

Paul O

Bulldog's unconventional 80 proof approach to gin somehow works. Makes a delicious Negroni.

4th March 2015

Mr. Richard

It makes the best Gin Martine I have ever had. My wife hates gin , she is a vodka martini drinker, until she tasted my Bulldog martini. Now all she wants is a Bulldog martini! Great stuff!!!!

15th February 2015

Very nice

Very smooth with just a bit of tonic and ice. Definitely better than Hendric's.

11th January 2015

King of gin

so smooth, often a bottle goes in an afternoon season with a couple of mates. tried so many gins, still come back to this one every time. they haven't killed it with loads of botanicals like a Bombay. go try it!

22nd November 2014

12th August 2014

ok but not as good as some

Great until you try Burleighs Gin !!

5th August 2014

Don't overlook this one

...give it a try. I found it a very pleasant and new experience in a very competitive market. Great as a mixer, but do try it on it's own to appreciate its unique quality. x
