Nose: Enough botanicals to make us wish we had five noses. Big notes of citrus, delicate menthol and flowers everywhere!
Palate: Cool at first. It quickly mellows out, warmth growing with citrus keeping it fresh throughout.
Finish: Long, with a good spice.
Overall: Islay isn't just about the whisky anymore. The Botanist Gin is top-notch.

I'm not a regular gin drinker but from now on, it will be Botanist Islay Dry Gin, whenever I drink gin. Smooth and fresh stuff, great gin!

really think more than just the bottle changed. had previously enjoyed about 10 bottles of the previous packaging, best Jin I ever had! first bottle of new packaging seems off taste wise?

Everyone who enjoys gin should definitely try "The Botantist Islay Dry Gin!" It is fantastic and I'm looking forward to visiting the distillery this summer!

I was bought a bottle for valentines day by my husband. Simply delicious gin. One of the nicest I have tasted. Smooth flavour with no overpowering flavour from any of the botanicals. Will be buying again as our staple gin

A good friend bought me a bottle for my 70 th birthday. I have drunk other gins for years but have found that Botanist is superb and is better than any other gins that I have tasted,

Excellent. Aurora Borealis, check. Meteorites, check. Summer Meadows and Spring Woodlands, check. Fair descriptors. Teleported us straight-away to your botanical paradise. Many thanks, we will return.

I received a bottle as a gift this Christmas. Had been drinking Tanqeray 10,shifted to Bluecoat ( a Gin made here in Philadelphia) I now have to change once again. Considering that my go to single malt is Laphroiag, maybe I'll have to move to Islay.

I drink lots of varieties of gin, but I just cant stay away from this one too long, and at this price you cannot complain.I love this gin so much I was married in the Distillery..

No martinis, no water, no extras - only the really enjoyable, complex, rich herbal taste... the best gin I've ever tasted. And yes, the old bottle was definitively more beautiful than the new one, but what can you do about it?
14th October 2014
The bottle change was made because a copy cat Gin came on the market, of inferior quality, called "Botanicals" and people were buying the inferior copy by mistake and being disappointed! This is why they re-packaged the wonderful "Botanist".
5th October 2014
but, the Gin is the best...
31st July 2014
Bartender introduced it to me and poured me some straight over one rock and a twist. Smooth and delicious. It will now be my go to gin for my drink of choice - gin martini straight up.
6th July 2014
I could have written the exact same review of The Botanist as the virgin taster and poster, "First time". Superb gin.
3rd July 2014
I normally favor Hendrick's and Bombay Sapphire , but I took a chance and made a purchase on The Botanist- I am quite taken with the taste and flavor- It now sits proudly on my bar! My new fav- thank you for such a fine product!
30th June 2014
Lovely chilled .Pity about the new bottle shape! The flat shape fitted into the fridge easier.
26th June 2014
Tried a few gins over the year. None I would recommend as a waste to mix... this changes all that.
12th June 2014
This is a really great gin - fresh and complex at the same time. Just a shame they changed the bottle: the old brick shaped one made it really stand out as the something different that the contents really are.
28th May 2014
Got this as a Christmas present from my brother last year. I now don't drink anything else. Why would you, when you can have something this good?
20th January 2014
After years of experimenting and always returning to Tanqueray 10 for my Martini gin, The Botanist is stellar. Do not waste it on mixed cocktails!
11th January 2014
I'd like to chime in as well on the packaging change. This is good gin, but the price increase is unfortunate as the bottle is less attractive than the original and it's the same exact gin inside of both.
1st January 2014
Being a gin lover this has won me over (time and time again) but agree I prefer the old contemporary bottle and price.
28th December 2013
This gin WAS great at the previous price point and the new packaging has missed the mark a touch. Worth it at the mid twenties price, but now it's not worth the price increase for the new identity alone.
26th December 2013
This beautiful gin should be drunk neat like whisky or with a little good water. The best gin I have ever tasted.
25th December 2013
New bottle new price ? It was a bit of a bargain , but I think £34 is pushing it for a Gin.
3rd December 2013
Very very good gin, prefered the old bottle and pre corporate buyout price of mid £20. That said one of the best gins I've tasted
2nd December 2013
This is the best gin I have ever tasted and the only one I will buy from now on !!!!!!!!
