A Dutch gin which was launched in 2014, Bobby's Schiedam Dry Gin features a recipe inspired by the creator's grandfather, Bobby Alfons. It's made with a combination of local and exotic ingredients, including juniper, clove, lemongrass, cubeb peppers and rosehips. Highlighting the meeting of Dutch and Indonesian flavours in the spirit, Bobby's Schiedam Dry Gin comes in a bottle which harks back to the style of vessel used to hold jenever, with a pattern inspired by Indonesian designs.
Earthy fennel and cut grass, with peppery whiffs of malt and juniper underneath.
Floral as it opens with fresh rose, followed by a hint of red berry sweetness. Coriander gives it a fragrant spice throughout.
Oily juniper and Christmassy clove.
$32.60 - $68.88
Charged up with fennel and lemongrass, it's a valid gin, although the juniper is a bit subdued. The spicy, lemony not-lemony nature would make it a good gin for when you crave a citrus-forward gin in the colder months.
People who don’t like this gin probably enjoy something like Barr Hill. If you like a crisp vodka-like drink with amazing aromatics (juniper, clove, lemongrass), you will absolutely love this gin. It has become my daily driver. If you like that traditional gin flavor, check out Bobby’s Jenever. I’m not a fan of that one.
Not bad but not living up to the hype
This is the best gin. Drink it neat, or make the freshest G&T. If you are talking to someone who doesn't think gin is as good as whisky, a neat sip of Bobby's is all you need. Nothing compares with this perfect dram.
Was really looking forward to tasting this gin after hearing so many good stories. Sorry but this one is not for me, a bit average and the flavour profile is just too much. I had to add lemonade to make it taste okey-ish
