This expression from Lancashire's Black Powder Gin team is all about those Amalfi lemons! The much-adored citrus is the star of the show here, bringing oodles of fresh, juicy, tangy notes to the spirit, paired with herbaceous botanicals to keep it from getting out of hand. Summer drinks ahoy!
Zesty citrus, with juicy lemon and a touch of vanilla, balanced by piney juniper and a touch of leafy coriander.
Beautiful lemon gin. Different to others as it has no bitterness and actually only a single measure is needed for the flavour to cut through tonic.
Maybe it's just my palate, but instead of getting zesty juicy notes as per the tasting notes I mainly get bitterness. Think of the bitter notes you get from the pith in marmalade, but not balanced with acid and sweetness. Maybe I'm not using the right tonic (I usually have Fever Tree) so I tried with lemonade but I'm still not finding the balance. This was a disappointment for me. Also it's supposed to be drunk within 6 months of opening, this wasn't shown on the listing.
