Bertha's Revenge Sloe Gin Bottling Note
Bertha's back, and this time, it's personal... Wait, sorry, I actually meant to say, "and this time, it's sloe." Sorry, I misspoke.
Anyway, yes, there's is indeed a sloe gin variation of Bertha's Revenge! The base gin is made with whey alcohol from Irish dairies along with a selection of botanicals, including juniper, coriander, bitter orange, grapefruit, sweet orange, lemon, lime, liquorice, orris, angelica, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, cumin, almond, elderflower, and sweet woodruff. The wild sloe berries (from in and around Ballyvolane Estate) are allowed to steep in the gin for months before bottling.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Quite creamy (no pun intended) and sweet, with grippy, oak-y tannins from the sloes.
