Maturing Bathtub Gin in a 50 litre cask that previously contained a batch of Old-Fashioned cocktails? Only the Batshit Mental team would have the moxie to go ahead with such a bizarre plan, but good gosh are we glad they did! It’s crazy like a fox but tasty like a... tasty... thing... Yeah.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Juniper, cardamom a touch of syrupy honey alongside pleasant bitters influence, reminiscent of a Pink Gin cocktail. Burnt orange peel and mandarin, Ginger Nuts and vanilla sponge cake.
Palate
Thick with juniper, lime and lemon drizzle cake.
Finish
Sweet candy cane and a resurgence from the botanicals, with cardamom, coriander and mixed peels.
Overall
Mental, but it works! A reet tasty barrel aged gin.
