Description

A big old one-litre bottle of big, bold Bathtub Gin, originally sold as a Travel Retail exclusive. This Explorer's Edition of the award-winning cold-compounded gin weighs in at a generous 50.2% ABV. Infused with ingredients including juniper, orange peel, coriander, cassia, cloves and cardamom, with the length of the compounding period controlled entirely by periodic sampling, this is ideal for adding some extra oomph to your Martinis.

Nose

Bold, piney juniper, rich grain, fragrant florals, and warming notes of cinnamon and pepper.

Palate

A bed of earthy juniper and rootsy spice is joined by zesty orange peel and fragrant cardamom.

Finish

Creamy and warming, with intricate botanicals and lingering citrus.

Excellent flavour!

Drink it on its own or with a good quality tonic (Fever-Tree comes to mind) Flavour wise, this Bathtub Gin works well in a Negroni and makes for a spice-forward Gin and Tonic. Overall, it’s more of a sipper than a cocktail gin; the more spicy colour is not to everyone's taste but hey, like all reviews, this stems from a subjective viewpoint fundamentally based on opinion - and I love it, even though vodka is my preferred tipple!
