Sorry about this...

Audemus Pink Pepper Bottling Note

A Pink Pepper Gin from French producers Audemus, situated in the heart of Cognac. Made with hand-picked pink peppercorns and a handful of other tasty botanicals (including honey, vanilla and cardamom - all of which are macerated separately then distilled under low pressure and temperature). You'll find a good juxtaposition between sweet and spicy notes in this one...

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Plenty of peppery aromas waft up, spicy but sweet at the same time. These touches are well balanced with cinnamon and clean, herbal notes.

Palate: An initial rush of pink peppercorn, followed by pine-y juniper and honey. Altogether quite a warming gin.

Finish: Spicy pepper lasts.

Audemus Pink Pepper Gin Reviews

A spicy hit!

Spicy!! And I love it. Pink Peppar Gin adds a uniquely strong flavour to any cocktail you make, which is great if you want an alternative to traditional gin flavour! My favourite? A Pink Peppar Gin Martini with olives... my winter favourite :)

My go-to favourite for 5 years

I travel a lot and always pick up gins from wherever I go so my collection is pretty eclectic. But the one I refuse to ever run out of is Pink Pepper Gin - the moment I run out then a new bottle is instantly on order. The flavour is simply amazing. Peppery on top, warm & vanilla-ry underneath.
It won the Gin-Off in London for two years running. Works well with Fever Tree Aromatic and a sage leaf, or equally with classic Indian tonic and a slice of lime.

Absolutely love it!!

I am not a gin specialist, but I know what I like. Having tried quite a few gins, I admit I LOVE this one for several reasons: firstly, it tastes delicious - I like it most with Fever-Tree tonic, but have found that (due to its lovely, lovely aromas) it works with most tonics unlike other gins which can taste a bit too "boozy" for my liking. Secondly, this has been a hit with guests. Without fail, people will ask me about the delicious G&T I'm making which didn't happen before I was using Pink Pepper gin. I am now seeing Pink Pepper gin bottles at all of my friends' houses. Thirdly, it seems to be a bit of a bar keepers' favourite. I make a point of ordering it for my G&T when I'm out and see it on the bar shelves and it's often commented on as an excellent choice. Can't argue with the professionals, can you?! It comes in a cool looking bottle too and makes a great present (though this is not the reason I now see it at my friends' houses ;-) )

Had been looking to try this gin for ages and picked a bottle up in York at the evil Eye gin shop.... wow what a taste. Well worth the wait

Marvellous !!

punchy peppery goodness

The pepper is so strong and when you add grapefruit it compliments it so well. Not for everyone but definitely for me

Smooth, rich and complex with layers of sublime flavours. Buy some pink pepper corns and grind them down to add to your glass. Fabulous!

Choice of tonic makes all the difference with this one.

I really didn't like this the first time I tried it at a gin festival, it was served with a plain tonic and it was too sweet and coconutty for my taste. However, I have since had this as a sample from a Gin Club with a suggested serving of aromatic tonic and a slice of orange. I was doubtful of this because I also do not like aromatic tonic much but, it seems two negatives make a positive and this is a good combination. By far, not my favourite gin but I appreciate it for being different.

Favourite gin

Smooth. Tastes of silky peppercorn sauce. Hints of vanilla. Full bodied with spice and the favourite gin out of my collection. Love this gin

Smooth, sweet and spicy. Looks beautiful: pink and oily.

A surprisingly smooth gin. Distilled in France, with added botanicals of juniper, black cardamom, pink peppercorns, cinnamon, honey, vanilla and tonka beans. It is a complex gin, rich and oily, smooth, sweet, and spicy. Serve with Fevertree Premium Tonic, crushed pink peppercorns, and a twist of lemon peel. For a different serve, try it with Luscombe Madagascan Vanilla Soda, a cinnamon stick to stir, and the oil from lemon zest on the glass rim.

Outstanding, I tried this when I was in the UK and met one of the company owners. Can’t wait until we can get it in Australia

One of my favourites

Outstanding! Packed full of pepper on the nose but full of tonka bean sweetness in the mouth.

Beautifully Fragrant Gin

I was initially bought this gin (along with a few others) as a birthday present (I am a BIG gin lover!) Pink Pepper was by far my favourite - I’ve found it’s particularly beautiful with a slice of orange, strawberry or pink grapefruit but is also lovely just on its own.

I have now received this as a Christmas present and a present for my latest birthday and have been so happy to see the gorgeous pink writing staring back at me when I’ve unwrapped it.

It’s perfect for a fresh summer drink or a winter warmer with its peppery spice coming through nicely and it’s not too overpowering like some gins I have tried.

I would recommend this to any gin lover as it’s so so delicious and smells divine!

Fingers crossed I will get some for Christmas from my friends and family as I am running low!

Love love love..

Pink Pepper is simply divine... truly unique with a tantalising taste!
Neat, on the rocks, straight up, in a cocktail or with tonic.....
Spoil your Gin loving friends with a bottle, it’s the perfect pressie!

Not Gin

If there was ever a "gin" that isn't a gin this is it.
No real taste of Juniper at all, this is flavoured Vodka

6th June 2018

Still Number 1

Still my go-to gin after trying well over a hundred different types, silky smooth with intricate flavours constantly changing with a gorgeous finish. Lovely on it's own over ice and my fave in a G&T.

27th February 2018

Too sweet

Really sweet, we don't really taste juniper but a lot of 'vanilla' and sweet spices... I suppose it is just not my type of gin and others may enjoy it, but it may be one of my worst gin ever tasted...
Try it before you buy it !

Sweeeet and peppery

A really nice gin that is super sweet - it has honey in it!

I use it with a hint of dry vermouth for a martini and it makes a killer negroni with campari.

It takes these cocktails to a different level.

Very tasty and convincing

30th August 2017

Really unique and special

Spectacular - picks up peppery malty flavor of the barrel. Great in a Negroni!

My favorite gin, hands down!

I didn't think I liked gin until I tried Pink Pepper, and now my world has been happily opened up to the delicious world of G&T's. Pink Pepper is still my favorite, with its lovely, layered balance of spicy and aromatic flavors.

I recommend drinking with a nice tonic like Fevertree or Fentimans – the taste of aspartame in Schweppes overpowers the intricate Pink Pepper flavors.

This is fairly awful. Doesn't really taste like gin at all. Tried it with standard Fevertree (low cal) but the cloying sweetness comes through on both the nose and the tongue. Like drinking a pot pourri. Not for me.

31st January 2017

I don't get it

Tried a sample of this: without doubt one of the worst gins I've ever tasted. This is the first gin I've felt compelled to review it was that bad.

On the nose all I got was pepper (unsurprising given the name) it's certainly a unique aroma as I've had another with this level of pepper.

I made a dry martini using belsazar vermouth. The first hit is a very pungent spice of cardamom and pepper, very harsh and acrid this quickly makes way to a cloyingly sweet vanilla/tonka/honey flavour that has a bit of a pastry feel to it. Once this subsides it's back to the harsh spice.

To me this gin makes no sense at all and lacks all sense of balance. I have tried many gins in the past and this is one of the worst I can remember. I can only assume as a G&T it must be much better (in fairness it can't be much worse).

Great Gin, esp with Fever Tree Ginger Beer as the mixer

25th October 2016

A longtime gin fan, this has just moved to top of my list. A game-changer.

13th May 2016

Fantastic Peppery Goodness

The pepper is sweet on the nose and on the pallet. Massive recommendation.
