Arbikie Kirsty's Gin Bottling Note

The second release from Scotland's Arbikie Distillery is Kirsty's Gin, a tasty tipple crafted using a base spirit made from estate-grown potatoes (King Edward, Cultra and Maris Piper varieties) and a small selection of botaicals - Juniper, Kelp, Carline Thistle and Blaeberry. It was named after Arbikie's Master Distiller, Kirsty Black.

Arbikie Kirsty's Gin Reviews

Taste Sensation

An incredible Gin - can't understand the other reviews which are critical. Simply put one of the best gins I have ever tasted.

Stunning

A real Scottish Gin - a beautiful floral juniper led Gin perfect in a g&T and a martini. I couldn't recommend this more.

Vodka?

The potato alcohol makes it have a vodka like taste that isn't suites to a gin. The company suggested a ginger ale with it but that was awful. Overall, dissappointing

A big letdown. Way better cheaper gins

The creamy mouthfeel from the potato base tends to obscure the flavours giving a gluey taste. The crispness of a true gin is missing and definition. Green and vegetal - not good at all in a G&T. The vodka is way better.

Magic!!!

Love it and being called kirsty black too makes it all the better xxx

A triumph Kirsty

Absolutely beautiful. My favourite now without a doubt.
How I like it- very little tonic- treat it like a fine single malt whisky. I find couple of slices of cucumber and a few basil leaves accentuates the taste and doesn't dominate. By cooling the gin and the tonic means I don't need ice.

Delicious

Tried this in a restaurant with fever tree tonic, a twist of orange, and a strawberry. Utterly delicious and very smooth. I'd definitely have it again.

Blunt flavours and far too creamy for a classic gin

I don't agree with using potato based spirit for a gin. It is great for vodka, but I expect a gin to be sharp and crisp with defined flavours. This doesn't have that and has a creamy texture that doesn't sit well with tonic in a G&T. Give it a miss.

Pure Quality

They make their own spirit , so few actually do this now , and the quality shines through. Very few can get anywhere near this true farm to bottle spirit - worth every penny

Made from Scratch - Arbike Farm Distillery

Outstanding! Winner at World Gin Awards 2016

I'm more of a whisky guy

This is intensely floral, and thanks to the kelp O get this massive hit of iodine on the nose. Simple flavours, but complex for a gin. This is best enjoyed in your Glencairn glass with just one or two drops (no more, not even half a teaspoon, it will drown) of ice cold water to push out the botanicals.

Fantastic Gin…really simple flavours & gluten-free

Amazingly good gin…you have to try this.

We'd never come across Arbikie before, but now know they have an award-winning vodka and used the same base spirit to make their Kirsty's Gin.

Bonus that it is also gluten-free.
