The second release from Scotland's Arbikie Distillery is Kirsty's Gin, a tasty tipple crafted using a base spirit made from estate-grown potatoes (King Edward, Cultra and Maris Piper varieties) and a small selection of botaicals - Juniper, Kelp, Carline Thistle and Blaeberry. It was named after Arbikie's Master Distiller, Kirsty Black.

I don't agree with using potato based spirit for a gin. It is great for vodka, but I expect a gin to be sharp and crisp with defined flavours. This doesn't have that and has a creamy texture that doesn't sit well with tonic in a G&T. Give it a miss.
They make their own spirit , so few actually do this now , and the quality shines through. Very few can get anywhere near this true farm to bottle spirit - worth every penny
Outstanding! Winner at World Gin Awards 2016
This is intensely floral, and thanks to the kelp O get this massive hit of iodine on the nose. Simple flavours, but complex for a gin. This is best enjoyed in your Glencairn glass with just one or two drops (no more, not even half a teaspoon, it will drown) of ice cold water to push out the botanicals.
Amazingly good gin…you have to try this. We'd never come across Arbikie before, but now know they have an award-winning vodka and used the same base spirit to make their Kirsty's Gin. Bonus that it is also gluten-free.
