La Vieille Prune from Louis Roque has long been a favourite among many eaux-de-vie enthusiasts. It dates back to the very early 1900s, when the eponymous Louis Roque became a specialist in distilling plum eaux-de-vie and began dedicating his time to keeping a close eye on the casks of it he filled. His La Vieille Prune has stood the test of time and remains an exceptional digestif.

Rich and well rounded dark fruit notes, with a persistent though enjoyable pinch of oak-y spice.

Wonderful traditional eau de vie

This is fabulous. Quite hard to get retail in France (although omnipresent in restaurants in the south), this is the only decent one I know of in the UK. Great value.
