Blackcurrants made delicious drinks. This is known. Well, the team at Greensand Ridge is getting in of the blackcurrant brilliance with its Blackcurrant Ghost! It's made with surplus blackcurrants that would have been used in a particular blackcurrant-based soft drink if they had been ready to harvest a bit earlier, and produced using a carefully considered distillation method. If distillation went one way, the resulting spirit wouldn't have enough flavour to stand out in cocktails and mixed drinks. If it went the other way, it'd be overpowering and some bitter notes would appear. Luckily, Greensand Ridge balanced everything perfect, making for a spirit that will work wonderfully with tonic and a good sprig of mint, or in a Sour cocktail.
Oh yes, that's a lot of blackcurrant notes here. Fresh and juicy, with just a tiny touch of tartness.
