This Italian gin travels from the Umbro-Marchigiano Apennines to the Langhe region's hills. It has a variety of flavours and botanicals. It symbolises the journey of the Italian wolf. Since the 1970s, these wolves moved from the central Apennines to the Alps near Langhe.
The gin idea came from Montelupo Albese, a small place in Langhe, Piedmont. Historically, wolves lived here. They disappeared but have now returned. The gin's creators chose Italian botanicals found along the wolf's path back to Piedmont.
Wolfrest is a Premium Distilled Dry Gin from Piedmont. It's made with 100% Italian botanicals. These include Umbrian juniper, Pernambucco sweet orange, elderflower, bay leaf, thyme, wild rosemary, and trilobed hazelnut.
The gin's aroma has hazelnut, juniper, and wild rosemary. It finishes with sweet and fresh citrus from Ligurian sweet orange and elderflower.
The gin's taste is delicate and lasting. The hazelnut gives it a soft, round body. The Umbrian juniper adds intense flavour. This is balanced by tannins and Mediterranean aromas of thyme, bay leaf, and wild rosemary. Ligurian Pernambuco orange adds sweetness and freshness.
This fragrant, delicate gin is good for mixing. It's also great neat as a post-meal drink due to its smoothness and rounded character.
