Langs Whisky

A historic brand of Scotch whisky, Glasgow-based Langs began life as a rum importer and whisky merchant and blender sometime after 1861. It was established by Alexander and Gavin Lang, who purchased Glengoyne Distillery (it was named Burnfoot at the time) in 1876 to add distilling to their portfolio. Langs eventually merged with Robertson & Baxter in 1965 before being granted a Royal Warrant by Her Majesty the Queen Mother in 1984. In 1996 Robertson & Baxter was brought into The Edrington Group, but by 2003 Langs became part of Ian Macleod Distillers after Edrington sold it and Glengoyne Distillery. Langs has always featured whisky from Glengoyne which earned it a reputation as ‘the Glengoyne blend’, however, its expressions contain around 25 different Highland and Speyside malts and grain whiskies combined.
