Koskenkorva

Koskenkorva is a vodka distillery which takes its name from its home village of Koskenkorva in Southern Ostrobothnia in Finland. It began distilling in 1953 and by the 1960s was the most popular spirit brand in Finland. At one time its products were distilled from potatoes but now Koskenkorva uses barley sourced from within 125 miles of the village and apparently the northernmost barley in the world combined with pure local water. The team uses a nine column still to make alcohol of great purity which needs no subsequent filtering. No wonder its products have won so many awards. Sustainability is high up on Koskenkorva with water usage and waste kept to an absolute minimum.
