Isle of Cumbrae Gin
The Isle of Cumbrae, near Scotland's west coast, is known for its beauty and history. It is also home to the Isle of Cumbrae Distillers. This distillery is unique in Scotland. It's run by five women from Millport, making it one of the few all-female distilling teams in the country. The team is also international, with members from the UK, Canada, and the USA.
Their story started with a love for Millport and gin. They likely first talked about it in Millport's pubs and during quiz nights at the Twa Dugs. Their goal was to help save Millport’s Town Hall. They realised they had the skills to start their own distillery.
In 2020, despite challenges, they released their first gin. They quickly won awards for their Nostalgin and Croc Rock gins. This was impressive for their first year. They were also shortlisted for Best Newcomer at the Scottish Gin Awards.
