House of Elrick

In the lowlands of Aberdeenshire, the House of Elrick estate was built in 1720 at the height of the Scottish Enlightenment period. House of Elrick was the home of an entrepreneurial family of cattle farmers and millers, and has passed hands only 5 times in almost 300 years. However, House of Elrick Gin was officially launched in November 2016, and was previously made in Surrey.

Stuart Ingram, owner and founder of House of Elrick Gin purchased the estate in 2014. He then submitted plans to redevelop the historic estate as a gin-making facility and destination restaurant back in 2015, in order to bring production back to the house. The distillery decided to launch a crowdfunding campaign to put towards regeneration of the estate, and raised £23,500. Approval from HMRC was granted in summer 2018 for the distillery, and by November that same year it was fully operational.
