Dale DeGroffs Bitters

Dale DeGroff, known as "King Cocktail," is a legend in bartending and mixology. He has worked in this field for over forty years. DeGroff has revived classic cocktails and improved drink-making. He has inspired bartenders and cocktail fans worldwide.

He was born in Rhode Island and started bartending in New York City in the 1970s. DeGroff became famous at the Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center. He worked there from 1987 to 1999. Under him, the Rainbow Room became known for great service, a classy atmosphere, and well-made drinks.

DeGroff focuses on detail, cocktail history, and fresh ingredients. He brought back fresh juices and classic recipes. He moved away from artificial and pre-packaged products. He has won awards, including the James Beard Award for Wine & Spirits Professional of the Year.

DeGroff has also made his own cocktail bitters. He worked with absinthe distiller T.A. Breaux on Pimento Aromatic Bitters. They use select botanicals, including pimento berry.
