Louis XIII The Classic

Louis XIII is a truly stunning Cognac from Rémy Martin.

First created by Paul-Émile Rémy Martin all the way back in 1874, this complex Grande Champagne Prestige Cognac is crafted from the oldest and rarest eaux-de-vie passed down by generations of cellar masters and carefully selected. Some was distilled more than 100 years ago!

Not only is the spirit a work of art, but the handcrafted and individually numbered crystal decanter is also distinctively glorious too, with its shape inspired by a royal flask found on a battlefield back in the 1500s.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Spicy with notes of blossom, stewed apricot with honey, passion fruit, fragrant plum, gingerbread and allspice.

Palate Sandalwood with notes of tropical fruit and figs, gingernut biscuits, mixed spice and intense, buttery toffee.

Finish The finish offers up blossom, cedar and vanilla.

Reviews for Louis XIII The Classic Decanter
Fools gold
Years ago (30) I worked in a night club.
So called high rollers/sophisticated types would come in and order Louie.
Funny thing is the owner or the manager would fill it with Remi. XO. No one knew the difference he got away with that for years. The profit margin on this is absurd.

something to be revered
faultless splendour 5 star . although an almost seamless replica can be achieved for approximately 750 gbp so although glorious..4 times the quantity for the same cost definitely makes me question a regular purchase

Exquisite experience of perfection
There is only one drink to drink for a very special occasion. Remy Martin Louis Xlll cognac if it were a watch it would be Patek philippe. it touches your lips the taste the smell of barrels oak fruits the smooth cognac grande champagne grapes just drips the back of your throat with flavours exploding in your mouth retains the iconic red colourband feels smooth as silk. It is an experience to savour for special occasions it definitely is an experience I have only ever had the luxury of experiencing on two occasions and will probably only experience half dozen times in my life.

How do I vote 6 stars?
Gosh, this is awesome cognac. My father-in-law had purchased a bottle back in the 1970s with the intention of opening it with his future son-in-law once his daughter got old enough and married. He had to wait another 30+ years, but we finally opened and enjoyed some of it together in 2006 or so... Seriously the smoothest drink I have ever had of any description.

I’m going to be purchasing another bottle soon
It is quite simply the best cognac I have ever tasted I always wanted to try it was on a retirement cruise last year around the pacific tried a tipple in the cigar lounge and decided to treat myself to a bottle sadly it’s all gone now but I expect I will get another bottle in the future as it’s just so good words fail me you just have to try it

Great at Christmas
Used it to soak my dried fruit in for my Grandmother's Christmas Pudding. I don't think she noticed.

Once-in-a-lifetime purchase. But worth it.
I had this once. It tastes like liquid joy. I have promised myself I'll buy another one at some point, but as this one bottle of cognac is 1/3 the price of a Submariner, it won't be soon.

Worth every penny!
After managing hedge funds all day, nothing takes the edge off like a little Remy Martin. Especially satisfying while relaxing in an infinity pool.

Nicely done!
Uniquely complex. Floral, incense, grapefruit, freshly sawn wood, raisins and a great storied history. Just try it!
