Louis Royer XO
XO Cognac from the Louis Royer House on the bank of the Charente River. One of their prize expressions, which has won handfuls of awards for its stunningly well balanced palate which comes from the very well-aged eaux-di-vies in the mix. The emblem on the bottle comes from the Royer family tradition of bee-keeping, which dates back to Louis Royer's father and grandfather and continues at the House today.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Spiced apples, violets, cedar developing into fresh forest air. Raisins and candied ginger.
Palate
Pear, peach, cinnamon and more apples. Develops a herbal spiciness later on, softened by rosewater and honey. A little touch of cocoa here and there.
Finish
Fresh lavender, more violet petals and another chunk of dark chocolate.
