A classic VSOP cognac, produced with grapes from four crus – Fins Bois, Borderies, Petite Champagne, and Grande Champagne, matured for up to 12 years in a selection of Courvoisier's own proprietary barrels. With layers of balanced oak, stone fruits, coffee, and gentle spice, it's a superbly versatile Cognac for both neat sipping and cocktails.
Whole coffee beans, mint leaves, kumquat, and red grape notes appear at first. Give it a minute and more savoury elements appear, with hints of buttered brown bread and a little whiff of sawdust.
More coffee notes as it opens (this would be a really good partner to espresso after a big meal). Develops touches of brown sugar, waxy apple peels, sweet pea, and a fragrant oakiness.
Ooh, a nice waft of almost smoky cinnamon on the finish. Slowly becomes sweeter with fresh pear and gummy bears.

Nice entry level VSOP, decent in cocktails.
A decent brandy to drink , if you want a 'proper' cognac I would suggest spending more . Vsop yes . And much nicer then what most of the pubs offer as an alternative . It's a staple
I'm a true lover of Courvoisier VSOP and have been enjoying this fine cognac since 1979. Not this year. I bought a bottle this December (2017) and was immediately dissappointed. It tastes like the VS, not the VSOP. Something is wrong. In all the previous years the VSOP has had a richer nose and a richer flavor. I cannot recommend this any longer.
Don't taste this..you will be disappointed. Even while smelling it will burn your nose!
Wonderful cognac. Its a bit spicy with a little kick to it. Much better than the Remy VSOP Mature Cask Finish.
