Courvoisier Mizunara 2023

France and Japan meet again for the second edition of Courvoisier's Mizunara Cognac. This is the first collaboration between Courvoisier chief blender Thibaut Hontanx and House of Suntory’s chief blender Shinji Fukuyo. This exquisite expression combines a blend of Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, and Borderies Cognac, matured for at least 10 years, before spending its final years in Japanese mizunara oak barrels. A limited release of 500 bottles, each featuring a gold screen printed mizunara oak tree design – they're sure to take pride of place in some very, very special drinks cabinets.

Tasting Note by The Producer

Aromas like candied orange and coconut from the Mizunara, followed by delicate tropical fruits, chocolate, honey, exotic flowers, and jasmine. Intense notes of sandalwood, dried fruits, cinnamon, and blond tobacco. Smooth and mellow with vanilla, roasted cocoa, and peppery aromas on the palate, deliver great complexity. A mouthfeel with a long-lasting finish of soft tannins and exotic sweetness.
