A very old, single estate Cognac from Leyrat, the Glory Extra is made using eaux-de-vie matured in casks that were hidden in the far reaches of Leyrat's 'Chai Paradise' cellar - which sounds like a lovely place to be. Evidently the casks were well hidden, as the eaux-de-vie in the Glory Extra is at least 40 years old, although there is no exact age given to this release.
Cigar box, spicy clove and fruity coffee. Old leather notes develop later on.
Vine peach, hazelnut cream, more vegetal tobacco leading to rancio elements.
Waxy peels, basil leaf, thyme honey and cinnamon.
