From expert wine and Cognac producer Bourgoin, located between Cognacais and Angoumois in the village of Tarsac in France comes this splendid VSOP Cognac. Bright and fruity with plenty of indulgent, oaken vanilla, it should make a splendid sipper on a chilly evening.
Poached apples and pears, woody vanilla with pressed sultanas, a waft of buttery pastry followed by warming, zesty spice.
On the sweeter side, but definitely didn't find this overly sweet. Fantastic nose of banana and leather. Nice tasting notes of vanilla, oak, butterscotch, and pipe tobacco on the finish.
Should have passed based on the mixed reviews, but curiosity got the better of me. Definitely is quite sweet, think sugar cubes accompanied by raisen and floral notes. Not a particularly long finish.
Not sure what the other review is on about, it literally says 0 grams of sugar are added per litre.. and we all know what the French are good at controlling their booze. Fresh pear notes, well balanced and delightful spice, nice long finish.. Would certainly recommend..
So sickly sweet, it's absolutely revolting and like no cognac/armagnac I've tried before. Really disappointed with the tasting notes provided by master of malt, I do wonder if they've even tried this for themselves? I'll be giving the bottle away (if anyone will take it) and that's the first time this has happened to me in my 15 year journey to date.
