Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Apple slices, a little raisin, into apple pie. Complex, perfumed and spicy with floral notes and cinnamon. Toffee apple develops alongside mustard seed.

Palate Rich and fairly thick, spicy too. Apple, notes of bombay mix, home baking and caraway. A drop of water reveals wonderful ripe apricots.

Finish Aromatic spices and fresh fruit give way to soft, slightly drying oak.

Overall A fantastic fragrant and spicy VSOP Cognac.

Buy sample first.
Strongly advise buying a sample first. This is an acquired taste.To me it left a surgical taste.One glass was to much..So awful, happy to pour it away.

Mellow,prehaps to mellow.But good armchair tipple
No complaints.It develops as it travels .Does not linger to long.Think I prefer Camus Borderies VSOP single estate. But will enjoy it.

You get what you pay for
A bit too funky and immature for me. I'd rather put up another $20 and get a decent XO.

Didn’t love it
To me this has a somewhat unpleasant flavor with a strong note of cherry cough syrup.

The experts do not get it wrong.
Don't get sucked in...sometimes a v.s.o.p is better than an xo!
In this case, it is, and a ship load cheaper. Too much age or poor wood can dull the product.

4 star tonight possibly 5 star by the time the bottle is finished
Quite honestly I was surprised to learn of the 2014 award as being the best cognac. I purchased it not believing the hype, but very pleased with it. I will be buying more of this in the future. I am givng it a 4 star rating tonight, but by the end of the bottle, I will probably increase it to 5 star
