A silky, delicate Champagne here from Philipponnat, produced from a core of Pinot Noir, supported by Chardonnay and a smidge of Pinot Meunier. Around 30% of the wine has been aged in wooden barrels, and it was also aged on lees for three years. A wonderful aperitif, as always.
Lemon blossom and white flowers, with a burst of summer berries followed by honeyed, biscuity notes.
