A multi-vintage brut Champagne from Louis Roederer. Collection is made up in part from a 'perpetual reserve', where wines from the previous year's harvest are added to a large stainless steel vat, similar in concept to an infinity bottle. Alongside the perpetual reserve, oak-aged reserve wines are added to balance the youthful character and bring extra depth. In this way, each blend in the Collection series will be unique. Collection 246 showcases the freshness of the 2021 grape harvest, a challenging and unpredictable growing season. The Chardonnays, present in unusually high proportions in the blend, proved remarkably resilient, producing refined, elegant and saline grapes. The Pinots, though less powerful than usual, also captured the light, fresh character of the year.
