This is made by the Yerevan Brandy Company in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. The country has a very long and proud brandy distilling heritage dating back to the 19th century, employing Cognac-style double distillation with local grape varieties. Ageing takes place in Eastern European oak casks. This is bottled at 45% ABV, a little stronger than the normal expressions giving it a lot more flavour. Traditionally this would be drunk after a meal with dried fruits, nuts, and chocolate.
Dark chocolate, tobacco, fresh peach and currants on the nose. Take a sip and there's ripe fruit with a vibrant spiciness, a floral edge and a toffee sweetness.
