Metaxa Angels' Treasure Bottling Note

A particularly premium expression of Metaxa's Greek brandy, featuring spirits aged for up to 50 years! Small numbers of these bottlings are released every year, and named after the Angels' Share explanation for spirit evaporation from casks. Always blame it on the angels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Dark fruits, Sherried orange peels, Mocha and well-structured oak.

Metaxa Angels' Treasure Reviews

An absolutely exquisite brandy!

I was presented a bottle of Metaxa Angels’ Treasure by my Greek friends about a year ago in Corfu and kept it as a valued gift, and I wanted to share this bottle with them. A few days ago, I decided to try it, and, alas, it is all gone! This is the best brandy I ever tasted. Nothing comes closer. Try to get hold of a bottle if you can afford one. It is worth the money.

The angels can get lost as this is divine !

I can't belive no one reviewed this yet ! From time to time really old bottlings of Metaxa's pop there heads up and these bottles are really precious and rare and are real Gems from the spirit gods beyond and those Gods Angels also like there booze and is called "The Angels Share" (Wrong ! I'm just pulling your legs!) The Angels share is the alcohol vapours the seep through the barrels pours, when new make spirit is first filled in barrels they actually lose 20% by volume of alcohol and depending where you are it could be more but those vapours that are released in the barrel house are called the Angels Share but that aside old Metaxa is really rare and Metaxa is one of those spirits that just get better with age. The aromas and flavour intensifies and also changes and takes on those old spirit notes which just adds more charicter. Old Metaxa's are completely different to the 5⭐️ 7⭐️ 12⭐️. The best normal Metaxa if you can get your hands on it is the Grand Olympian Reserve but there is also a 40 year old GOR out there which I will fight tooth and nail to get my hands on and is truly divine.
