An interesting expression in here from the Gensac range. It consists of an aged Armagnac that has been finished in casks that previously held peated single malt Scotch whisky from Islay's Caol Ila Distillery. The result is a French brandy with a smidge of smoke to it, which is particularly intriguing. Because it has spent time in whisky casks, it is outside AOC rules therefore cannot be called an Armagnac.
Jammy red berries, apricot, dry smoke with a coastal salinity, custard cream biscuits.
