Asbach Uralt Bottling Note

Classic German brandy Asbach Uralt disappeared from shelves for a short while, but it has since been relaunched! Now with a slightly lower ABV than before (previous bottlings were presented at 38% ABV), Asbach Uralt remains a great choice for cocktails and mixed drinks.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Honey, spicy black pepper and cassia, toffee apple and ripe grape.

Asbach Uralt Reviews

THE BEST !!!!

Best Brandy ever, my elixir of life for 13 yrs spent in Germany ❤❤

My preferred brandy

Agree with similar comments, I first tasted Asbach on a school trip in 1960, trip round the distillery then a thimble full as a taster, the girls did not like it so I drank theirs for them. It is a stand alone spirit never to be wasted on cocktails or with added mixers

Great

Use to drink it with coke and ice when l worked in germany 1981. The landlords used to have a gallon upside down bottle it was that popular.

Could be better

Started drinking Asbach in 1985 ,fantastic back in the day, when it dissapeared from the club's and then made a reappearance it did not have the smoothness and palatable aroma and taste associated with this previously very nice German brandy, I suspect the reduction in alcohol is purely to circumvent the duty payable as has happened to the stronger lagers and beers, put it back to the original strength ,people will pay for the quality product ,I won't be buying another one , dissapointed

5 stars

Excellent smooth drink goes down quite easily have been drinking this for past 50 years much preferred than other famous named Brandy’s.

Neat

For goodness sake, how can you recommend this as a mixer? Asbach needs to be drunk slowly and neat to appreciate the mellow depth and fruitiness. Use cognac for cocktails and mixes; give Asbach the respect it deserves!

Simply the best

Astonishingly brilliant. I bought six bottles last year during our Christmas Markets trip to Essen, Düsseldorf and Cologne. I had polished the lot off by Easter. Intended on doing the same this year but this bloody Chinese inspired virus ruined my cunning plan.
