The Old Fashioned

The concept of the ‘Vintage Cocktail’ range is simple – you get all the ingredients for a superb cocktail pre-mixed, all you have to do is pour it over ice, stir, then strain off into your glass and garnish (in this instance with a slice of fresh orange peel). Each bottle carries a stamp showing its year of manufacture.

To serve, simply fill a tumbler with ice, pour in a large measure of The Old Fashioned Cocktail, stir, and add a twist of orange peel (expressed over the glass).

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Seville orange, Cola Cubes and spicy cardamom. A core of rich oak notes develop into toasted vanilla, chocolate mousse and light wafts of Alpine herbs.

Palate Sweet cinnamon, tart fruit and mouth-coating orange oil. Mocha, Fruit Salad sweeties, five-spice powder and spearmint.

Finish Long and well balance with flamed orange peel, grippy oak tannins and another cooling layer of mint.

Overall A deliciously rich, intense Old-Fashioned.

Bags of flavour.
A lovely thing neat. Warm, orangey, bursting with spice. A massive finish means it makes for a really enjoyable dram. 50cl bottle caught me out but worth every penny for the amount of enjoyment per bottle.

Simply brilliant, by a huge single malt fan.
I'm a huge single malt fan with a number of brands in my collection, so am I the typical target consumer for a pre-mixed drink product? You wouldn't have thought so. But, honestly, this product is simply brilliant. I love it. I find it's best served over a large ice ball (a Death Star being my preference), and I'm on the fence about the need for an orange twist - there's a delicious strain of citrus already present. If you like a superbly smooth, rich, intense Old Fashioned you'll love this, I promise!

Rich and luscious
all that's needed is a quick stir, and a twist of orange. Maybe a cherry too, but NO MASHING and definitely no soda water. Primites.
