Nose Rich, musty aromas of a chef’s pantry, spices and fresh herbs. Hints of berry fruits (sloes and damsons in particular) develop, with hints of dried basil and olive.
Palate Rich cherry and rhubarb, hints of juniper, gentian, mixed spice and a little oak. Becomes quite wine-like. Oily, a little lavender appears. Hints of violet too.
Finish Long, herbal finish. Stewed fruits, rose petal jelly and a hint of fig.
Overall A mouth-filling, intense Negroni with some truly stupendous flavour.
