Description

A wonderful cask-aged vintage cocktail from The Handmade Cocktail Company's Experimental Series. Made with small batch high rye content bourbon and a secret blend of bitters as well as orange peel, it was then aged for four months in an oak cask!

Simply pour over ice, gently stir, add a twist of orange peel for garnish and enjoy.

Nose

Candied peels and spiced notes lead into spicy rye with a creaminess throughout.

Palate

Warming rye and syrupy oranges combine across the whole mouth.

Finish

Lip-lickingly delicious orange peel, herbal notes and a passing lick of rye spice.

Overall

Wonderfully integrated and certainly moreish!

Delightful

I have really enjoyed the spice and orange of this cask-aged Old Fashioned. It strikes me a shade on the sweet side, occasionally threatening to overwhelm the balance of the other flavours, but leaving that aside, it is truly delicious. Since the custom bitters mean I can't recreate it myself at home, I'm just about to order another bottle -- I only wish it came in the 70cl size!
