    Antique Rob Roy – 1970s - Batch 2

This is a delicious, antique edition of The Handmade Cocktail Company's superb Rob Roy. It's made with a mix of Scotch and rare vermouth, bottled in the 1970s, and it's been specially mixed and bottled to retain freshness and complexity.

The concept of the ‘Vintage Cocktail’ range is simple – you get all the ingredients for a superb cocktail pre-mixed, all you have to do is pour it over ice, stir, then strain off into your glass and garnish (in this instance with a maraschino cherry). Each bottle carries a stamp showing its year of manufacture.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

A rich nose of morello and marasca cherries. Hints of spice, bitter orange peel, stewed fruit and red berries. Quite malty too, with a faintly herbal character.

    Palate

A thick, herbal palate with chewy plum jam, cherries and toasted oak. Rich, malty whisky, hints of sherry and potpourri.

    Finish

Long, bittersweet finish with notes of mixed peels, dried herbs and fruit.

    Overall

An astonishing cocktail - very nice to try it just as it would have been more than forty years ago!

Bought this after watching a film where the bloke from this bottle cut himself a cow and climbed in. Thought it was mining but class hiding place. Not sure if it's a true story but made me think. The drink is okay
