Antique Martinez – 1970s – Batch 2
This is the second batch of The Handmade Cocktail Company's Antique Martinez cocktail - the forerunner to the legendary Martini. This was made with gin and vermouth bottled in the 1970s and it offers cocktail lovers the chance to try a classic cocktail as it would have been forty years ago!
The concept of the ‘Vintage Cocktail’ range is simple – you get all the ingredients for a superb cocktail pre-mixed, all you have to do is pour it over ice, stir, then strain off into your glass and garnish (in this instance with a twist of lemon peel). Each bottle carries a stamp showing its year of manufacture.

Nose
Rich, aromatic nose with hints of morello with hints of dried herbs, orange peel and berries.
Palate
Overripe grape, sultanas and spice. A hint of cooked fruit, baking spices and juniper.
Finish
Rich, tangy finish with all kinds of fresh herbs and spices.
Overall
A wonderful cocktail - not as dry as a Martini, with plenty of rich, fruity flavour from the vermouth...
