This is a delicious antique Manhattan cocktail made with ingredients which were bottled in the 1970s. This is a superb drink from The Handmade Cocktail Company, made to a classic recipe.
The concept of the ‘Vintage Cocktail’ range is simple – you get all the ingredients for a superb cocktail pre-mixed, all you have to do is pour it over ice, stir, then strain off into your glass and garnish (in this instance with a maraschino cherry). Each bottle carries a stamp showing its year of manufacture.
Rich notes of bourbon, charred oak and hints of oily rye spice. The vermouth is present, with sweet cherry and pepper.
Peppery, cherry-led palate with toasted oak and cassia bark. A little red berry note develops with mixed herbs and peppermint.
Oily, spicy finish with a little oregano. Pepper.
Perfectly balanced with a big spicy core - a very fine Manhattan!
