PBJ Donut Old Fashioned

The world of drinks is a funny one. There are people who make spirits that are intensely traditional, and there are people who say "Hey, guess what? We made a Peanut Butter and Raspberry Jam Donut Old Fashioned. You're welcome." You've got to love that juxtaposition, don't you? That one might sound like a bit of a farfetched exaggeration for the sake of an example, but it's actually a real bloomin' thing, and it's right here. A Peanut Butter and Raspberry Jam Donut Old Fashioned, made with some ace rye whiskey at its heart. Stir with plenty of ice, and serve with a twist of orange or lemon (or perhaps both!), and enjoy the sheer ludicrous deliciousness!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Juicy raspberry and tangy orange, Refresher bars, caramelised nuts, vanilla pod developing a smidge later.

Palate Cola bottle sweeties, strawberry, salted peanuts with a hint of oiliness, touches of peppery rye slowly building.

Finish Those peppery notes persist, balanced by Snickers bars and red berries.

Overall This is not a subtle cocktail – it's bold, it's bizarre, and it's brilliant!

Terrible neat , great with coke
Terrible neat but really great mixed with coke /dr pepper , so I'm on the fence , honest review , but from the bottle it's a gimmick drink

needs ice
tried it neat and didn't enjoy it that much , but it definitely needs ice to break the flavours apart , now It's lovely , so get your ice in

Horrid.
I was looking forward to a glass full of character, sadly it is one of the worst things I’ve ever had the misfortune to drink. Less an old fashioned, more a cheap and nasty herbal liqueur type taste. After one serving I’m now faced with the unfortunate conundrum of whether to endure the rest of the bottle or give it the send off it deserves by pouring the foul liquid down the sink

An unusual take that works well
This is definitely interesting. On the nose it's very sweet, and I get a huge hit of refresher sweets, plus bitters and the rye. To taste, more of the sweet refresher and strawberry, followed by the bitters before you get to the rye. I cannot detect peanut or anything resembling donut, but overall its an interesting and sweet twist on the old fashioned and well worth trying

This works
It might sound like a joke, but this is actually a great cocktail worthy of a place in your liquor cabinet.

Swing and a miss
Great idea that promised a lot but poorly executed for me too Medicinal and synthetic tasting shame was excited to try

More sophisticated than I was anticipating
Very well-put together - the PBJ notes done take over the (obviously very good) base whisky - and overall it’s a hilarious spin on one of my all time favourite cocktails.
