Italy
Primo Aperitivo
The Sbagliato is one of the most beloved apéritif cocktails in Italy, especially in Milan where it was invented. It’s actually a Negroni gone wrong, created in the 1970s when a bartender at Bar Basso accidentally added sparkling wine instead of gin to a Negroni (Sbagliato means ‘mistake’). This bottled cocktail is made from sweet vermouth, a bitter apéritif liqueur and sparkling wine with just a hint of pink grapefruit essence. Serve over ice and a slice of pink grapefruit and be transported to Italia. Bellísimo!
Intensely aromatic with a bittersweet backbone lifted by a layer of grapefruit zest and light carbonation.
