Peanut Butter & Jam

What do you get if you try to mix a peanut butter and jam sandwich with bourbon? A sandwich which falls apart when you pick it up due to the additional moisture resulting in a loss of structural integrity. However, if you're still determined to enjoy the delicious notes of bourbon and PB&J in one mouthful, Aske Stephenson have you covered with their Peanut Butter & Jam Old Fashioned bottled cocktail. Hitting classic bourbon notes alongside juicy raspberry jam and salted peanut butter, it's fantastic served in a rock glass over ice. It even comes in a bottle sealed with raspberry jam-scented wax!

This comes to us from Aske Stephenson, the creation of Thomas Aske and Tristan Stephenson of Fluid Movement fame. Keep 'em coming, team!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Peanut butter and jam. Not comically so, this is still a whiskey cocktail, but it's definitely there. The rye in the bourbon complements both, one moment it's nutty rye, the next fruity, with corn adding roundness.

Palate Warming raspberry jam, more rye spice and rich, creamy caramel.

Finish Slightly drying (more nut influence?), then into Elvis' jelly.

Overall We were excited about this, but not sure exactly what to expect. We should have known not to worry.

Reviews for Aske Stephenson Peanut Butter & Jam Old Fashioned
Not good
If I could rate zero I would ,tastes nothing like peanut butter or jam, I wish I never ordered it, it ruined my husband's party as he loves peanut butter and jam, it just tastes of whiskey and nothing else.

Really nice old fashioned
A real tasty stuff. Not a peanut butter flavoured drink but a good old fashioned with delicate peanut butter flavour.

Smooth but no hint of peanut butter or jam
Tastes like a smooth version of bells or teachers.

Peanut butter flavoured? I don't think so!
Was so excited to purchase this... And so very disappointed. A hint of raspberry but zero peanut butter flavour... the very reason I bought it. What a waste of money! Shame I cant send it back or get a refund!

Great drink, and improved as well
This is the second time I bought this product and I was surprised to notice that it actually improved greatly. I did enjoy it the first time but it is much more full flavoured now. It's a shame they don't ship to US...

If you like old fashioned you'll love it!
Fantastic! I got a bottle as a gift a couple of years ago and I remember enjoying it so a couple of weeks ago I bought one to serve at a dinner party. Didn't last till then- we've drank it on the night we got it. Great balance of flavours, not too sweet, very unusual and delicious. Rich enough to be diluted and remain tasty. It's a great twist on old fashioned - it does not taste like a peanut butter sandwich but I guess that wasn't the point at all. Highly recommended!

It's just bourbon with sugar in it
Really disappointed with this; doesn't taste of peanut butter or jam.

It's just a nasty overly sweet bourbon that's impossible to drink.

OK bourbon
An interesting fragranced wax seal initially got me excited about this product, although its rather fiddly to get the cork out (more like wine bottle than a whisky bottle).

However as one reviewer has already highlighted once past the teasing nose its nothing more than an entry level bourbon. Not much raspberry and the peanut flavour is non existent. Really disappointed as i've had PB&J old fashioned's before that were way more flavourful.
