This is the Tripel from La Trappe's ace range of Trappist ales. Something of a classic, this.
Citrus peels and fresh banana are at the fore of this one. Perhaps even a thick slice of banana bread, too. Subtly spicy hops and a touches of yeast. A mellow hint of honey brings more sweetness later on.
First had La Trappe Tripel in the Netherlands 6 years ago. Coming in at 8% this beer needs respect despite its light and refreshing taste. Definitely as good as any Belgian Trappist triples on the market if not better.
