Janneau Armagnac 1987

In a region full of tiny brands, Janneau is about as close as Armagnac gets to a big house, but its still a minnow compared with the famous Cognac houses. It's unusual in the region because it uses double-distillation for some of its brandies rather than classic single distillation in an alembic. This vintage offering was double-distilled in 1987, spent 30 years in oak before bottling at 43% ABV, and offers incredible value for a spirit of this age and complexity. And it comes in a smart wooden box!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Prunes and dates on the nose with a hint of orange peel. On the palate there's figs, butterscotch, toffee, dried apricot, and nuts.
