Spirit of Hven Organic Oak Matured Aqua Vitae
Silver medal winner at the 2012 International Spirit & Wine Competition, this premium quality aqua vitae is oak matured before and after pot distillation at the Spirit of Hven distillery. This unique process yields a stunning complexity in flavour and well-rounded mouth feel. It is made with caraway, dill, St John’s wort and fresh citrus peel.
All of the Spirit of Hven products are handcrafted in very small batches on the island of Hven in the Öresund Strait, between Denmark and Sweden.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Caramel, tomato vine, mixed peels, a hint of worn leather and some of that caraway too.
Palate
Slightly oily with hints of orange, sweet cinnamon stick, dill and a touch of dark berry tartness.
Finish
Peppery, vanilla latte.
Overall
A delightful, oak influenced spirit from the Swedish islands.
