Since July 2013 La Fée Parisienne has been made with 100% natural ingredients including 60% grand wormwood (Artemisia Absinthium), a much higher proportion than before. Meanwhile, a UV resistant coating has been added to the bottle itself. This helps preserve the green colour of the liquid inside, which can be affected by exposure to sunlight.
'90s music trivia: La Fée's green eye logo was based on Sarah Nixey of Black Box Recorder's left eye! How cool is that? (Can you tell that it was Jake who added this last bit?)
As a devotee of Jade Absinthe I couldn’t live with myself if I used anything that fine in a cocktail. La Fee assumed the position and went down rather well. As a standalone absinthe I thought it lacked that quintessential oil-like texture and the depth of flavour you get when you pay a little more.
I don't drink a lot of this, but if I haven't had a little for a while, I get a craving! An acquired taste perhaps, but once you've acquired it........ you have to keep a bottle in stock. :)
Best i've tasted. Same great taste from my memories. I just can't get enough of that flavour!
Best Absinthe I ever had! I put it in a glass with ice and slowly sip!
I've done a daiquiri with this, 25ml wary, 25ml Havana 3, 25ml lime, 15ml sugar and 15ml of la fée. It creates a quite sublime, pale and interesting, evocative drink. I loved it. As absinthe goes, I got mad about king of spirits. But to mix this, it's versatile and a little goes a long way.
