Discontinued 10 year old single malt from the Yamazaki distillery, aged in bourbon barrels. A lovely fruity dram, quite floral.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
The nose is fruity and rich. Plenty of barley malt and caramel, cereal sweetness and winter spice. Vanilla cream and mixed peels with a hint of nuts.
The palate is of medium-body with notes of rich peels and winter spice, aniseed and a herbal note. A bitter oak develops.
The finish is dry and of good length with acacia honey.

Tried this a while ago - foul just about describes it. Thankfully the supermarket where purchased, exchanged it for something worthy of the price charged. To date, it's the only single malt I've been so horrified with. Others have been at least drinkable, even if they were too peaty or too spirited for my palette.
I found the body lacking in depth, but well-rounded and subtle. Excellent finish yet short-lived. Definitely not a bad choice, but in this price range I'd say with this one you're paying a bit extra for the exotic aspect of the deal.
Absolute quality! Very complex nose, including plummy bananas or banana plums. Big&round in the palate, with a lingering fruity/automnal finish. I'd say this is the best whisky in the 10YO range.
