Woodford Reserve
The Woodford Reserve team has gone and made its very own wheat whiskey! If you like your whiskeys to be wonderfully creamy with a good helping of fruity sweetness to them, you've come to the right place. This expression is made with a mash bill of 52% wheat, 20% malt, 20% corn and 8% rye, leading to a satisfying flavour profile that should do well sipped neat or in cocktails.

Good initial taste but not such a nice finish. Not smooth enough for me & will not buy again.
Golden syrup in colour, the nose is like a cake shop. Heavy on the barley sugar, banana and pineapple, a bit of citrus zing and a little cinnamon in the back. It's smooth in the mouth, feels quite thick, not too spicy. There's a lime like citrus zing on the tongue with heady vanilla dominating alongside a little latte coffee like bitterness which is not unpleasant when mixed with the dominant vanilla and cream notes. The finish is reasonably long, that citrus zing lingers with a thick mouth coating of that latte like creaminess and sweetness of vanilla. One for those who like a sweeter smoother whiskey with a bit of fruity kick. Certainly one I will be coming back to.

Ok so after being able to get my hands on some Weller 12’s and some reserves I’ve been looking for a more accessible wheater. This definitely does it! Nose: Classic, classic wheat fragrance that has that almost mint like lightness. Palate: Rich, toasty, slight oil, slight oak, big perfume and well balanced spice! Finish: Dry, still that minty lightness in the perfume. Turns cereal after a minute or two. This does even better when you leave it breathe. Great drink though this is definitely my favourite bottle from WR.
