A limited edition single cask single malt from the wonderful Wolfburn distillery! This particular expression was drawn from a single second-fill sherry hogshead (cask #87, if you were wondering) and has been bottled at a generous 57% ABV.
Dates and walnuts, with a good hint of earthy vanilla pod in the background.
Peppery and honeyed. Soft hints of peat develop, alongside rich red berry sweetness and sugary coffee.
Beeswax, more honey, sultana and cinnamon.

Have been very impressed with the Wolfburn releases since appearing on the market in 2017 but of the bakers dozen tried so far this is the best yet. A sort of young Glendronach Sherry cask style malt full of complexity and would happily purchase a bottle at this price point after a sample only and just goes to show age does not matter, quality cask here and this 2nd fill has imparted lots of lovely Sherry wood influences.
