Wolfburn Poppy Scotland
A special release from Wolfburn, commemorating 100 years of the Poppy Appeal! Matured in a selection of second-fill Islay whisky casks and first-fill Oloroso sherry hogsheads, it boasts a fruity, floral profile with a good balance of spice and chocolate. Wolfburn produced a total of 1,921 bottles and will donate £5 from every bottle to Poppyscotland, which will raise a total of £9,605.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Sweet, oaken vanilla with floral heather followed by denser notes of stone fruits and chocolate nuts.
Palate
The vanilla continues with crumbly fudge and festive wafts of sherried spice. Candied orange and dried fruits tangle with nutty malt.
Finish
Silky honey, more floral fruit, and caramel, with bold barley and oak char bringing warming spice.
