William Larue Weller Single Barrel
Marvellous single barrel wheated bourbon from the William Larue Weller range, produced by the brill Buffalo Trace! No barrel blending going on here – each barrel is bottled one at a time. The wheat in the mash bill makes for a creamy, softly spicy, yet enjoyably bold flavour profile that is well worth savouring. Terrific whiskey, this.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Buttery and rich, with toffee, honey and a prickle of mahogany. Perhaps some chocolatey coffee, too.
Palate
Red fruit notes develop on the palate, with cherry at the fore. Still packing loads of vanilla and soft oaky spices.
Finish
Cinnamon stick, dried orange peel, peppercorn, dark chocolate.
